Train the Trainer is one of my favorite types of instructional design consulting. The trainer and I kicked off working together by looking at what courses need to be taught and started working on this Facilitator Outline. We filled organized and entered the content first, then came up with some sticky topic names targeted for the audience, which in this case were about 300 Managers for a national company. Then we decided how much time each topic needed. I consulted on how the information could be presented best. The facilitator needed to not only share information, but also demonstrate how to analyze and report their own portfolios. At the end, the outline gave us a great roadmap for the webinar. The facilitator was confident that the training was well designed and would meet the managers’ needs before the webinar presentation was even designed.
